Exciting evidence emerging from Gobekli Tepe ignites the imagination. A true paradigm shift in the field of archaeology. Further discoveries will continue to illuminate the beginnings of the human story. That we could erect a structure of such complexity 10,000-12,000 years ago is amazing!

On the other hand, a significant percentage of Americans (and specifically a member of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee, no less) will enthusiastically tell you much of science is, "lies straight from the pit of hell."
